NIL Island was founded to bridge the gap between confusion and opportunity in the student-athlete NIL space
The platform was launched following the historic rule changes on July 1st, 2021. Founder Leah Clapper, then a gymnast at the University of Florida, recognized that while the potential for brand deals was immense, many peers felt overwhelmed by the lack of clear direction. This realization sparked the mission to “figure out NIL” and share those findings with the entire community.
Since its inception, the team behind NIL Island has navigated dozens of national brand partnerships, managed high-growth social media accounts, and consulted with top-tier agents and attorneys. Every resource provided here is built on real-world student-athlete NIL experience, ensuring that the advice is practical, legal, and effective.
