We recently launched an Athlete Creator Hotline segment with @sambgreen on Instagram, where Sam offers tips to transform your NIL content from Lame to LIT🔥.

In this post, we’ll share some of our favorite practical tips from the first few episodes.

@sambgreen

Sam Green has taught over 200 athletes from the NFL, NCAA MLB, MLSW, PGA, how to create content and build brands that outlive their playing careers, all from their phones. While dancing in college and in the NBA, her biggest regret was not tapping into the fan base that was right in front of her. That regret drove her to become an editor at ESPN and learn how to create great content using software on her phone.

How Can I Speed Up My Video Editing Process?

Athletes, we know you don’t have a lot of free time, and creating content can be extremely time-consuming.

#1: Instagram Reel Templates:

Want to do a season recap, but don’t want to spend hours timing your clips to the perfect song? Reel templates allow you to automatically sync your photos or videos to the music. This is a great way to create more content for social media, so you can stay consistent!

Here are a couple Instagram accounts that post great reel templates…

Or go to Instagram’s post a reel tab on your account and browse the templates recommended for you!

#2: Opus.pro

Stop wasting time trying to produce a million pieces of content. Sit down, press record, and just go. Talk to the camera, get as many shots as you can, then allow opus.pro to do the hard work. This website turns your video into 10 short-form clips with captions, face tracking, highlighted keywords, and emojis. You don’t even have to wait for the clips to be finished; they email you when they’re done! Ten clips from one video? Now, that’s consistency!

*Tip: Save them up as drafts, and post one per week to help stay on a schedule!

Need Some Content Ideas For Your Next NIL Deal?

#1: Q&A Session:

Engage with your audience by hosting a Q&A session on IG live where you answer their questions about your athletic journey. During the session, you can also review and discuss the features and benefits of the brand/product you partnered with, incorporating it naturally into the conversation. Save your IG live and turn it into a reel!

#2: Remix/Duet:

Find a video on the brand’s Instagram that features an engaging hook, an eye-catching shot of the product, or even an educational segment about the product. Use this video to create your own product video remix. Additionally, invite the brand as a collaborator to tap into a larger audience.

#3: Photo with Music: Snap a picture of the product and choose a song to complement the theme of the image, the brand, or the product itself. This creative content piece combines the visual appeal of the photo with the emotional power of music to entertain your audience.

#4: Day-in-the-Life/Vlog with Product Integration: Capture your daily routine as a student-athlete and seamlessly incorporate the product/brand into your vlog. By showcasing the products you genuinely use in your daily life, vlogs offer an authentic and organic way to promote your next brand deal.

But most of all, don’t forget, creating content should be fun.
